Unlisted

Manifesto

Why not the review sites

This project started from a simple complaint on X: the best café in a city is often the one mentioned in a personal blog, not the one with 4.7 stars and two thousand reviews written like they were late for a flight.

Review farms optimize for consensus. Blogs optimize for taste. Unlisted is a small index of the second kind — places described the way a friend would describe them.

The current atlas is curated field notes across six cities. Saves and submissions live in your browser. No ranking. No map pins competing for attention.

Inspired by a 2026 note from Evan Shapiro about finding places from references in personal blogs instead of Google or Yelp.
